Mental Fitness – Causes of Stress

General Add comments

There are many symptoms and indications of psychological malfunction and lack of mental fitness that can be relatively easily remedied through self help by learning relaxation techniques and being willing to face personal issues and problems.

Included amongst some of the most common causes of major stress reactions include the following -

Death of spouse
Bereavement of all kinds
Separation of a Relationship
Divorce
Marriage problems and incompatibility
Financial problems
Emotional problems
Sexual problems
Physical injury or illness
Suffering a fatal disease
Fired from work
Change in residence
Loneliness

Others which may be less severe but our reactions of course are personal and likely to differ one from another in the degree of emotional and mental tension are identified as -

Seeking employment
Fears of losing employment
Pregnancy
Concern over family welfare
Upbringing children
Children leaving home
Antagonisms within family
Personal ambitions and career
Sense of futility and no purpose
Lack of self confidence
Fears of all kinds
Noise and disturbances of environment
Indecision
Feeling pressure of time
Workplace pressures and relationships

However, as no doubt we all react to external factors, and often negatively, much of our own stress is generated inside us if we hold aggressive feelings or dislikes, or we are either overworking or lazy or not exercising our capacity for tolerance, understanding or perhaps just not being more assertive and quietly true to our own values.

It is important that we have faced our inner problems to the extent that we are free to pursue our desire for full use of our mental faculties and enjoyment of both physical and mental fitness.
