If you’re trying to figure out how to stop sweating, I understand your pain. It can be difficult dealing with excessive sweating, especially when in social or intimate situations. When your body sweats in excessive amounts, you have what is known as Hyperhidrosis. This is a condition which is affects over 3% of the population so no need to feel left out in your plight. The good news is, you don’t have to suffer the continual embarrassment and self-esteem hits, there are ways to get around this issue and lead a normal lifestyle. Here are a few ways how to stop sweating:
- Choose your clothing Carefully
You want to avoid wearing dark clothing out in the sun as dark colors absorb heat which will result in excess sweating for you. Sure sweat doesn’t show up as well on a black top, but if you’re looking to prevent sweating, go for lighter colored clothes.
Additionally, try wearing looser fitted clothes. Clothes which fit loose are less likely to constrain you and thus cause unnecessary sweating. This note not only goes out to the women, but my body-building brethren who are into the muscle shirts.
Finally if you really want to figure out how to stop sweating so much, you’re going to have to change your wardrobe around a bit. When it comes to clothes, you want to make sure the clothes are of natural breathable fibres. When I say that I’m basically referring to 100% wool, 100% cotton, merino and cashmere are good. However you want to avoid as much as possible silk, corduroy, polyester, nylon and flannel.
- Excersise More!
Another way how to stop sweating applies to those of you who are out of shape. The fact of the matter is, the more adipose tissue(we’re talking fat here buddy) you have, the more you’re going to sweat. Why is this? Fat gets in the way of the natural heat exchange between your body and it’s surrounding environment, so the less body fat you have the better. Develop the habit of hitting the gym, get on a healthy eating plan and loose those extra pounds. Not only will you sweat less but you’ll look and feel better as well!
3. Stop the Cigs, Stop the Starbucks
The final way how to stop sweating like mad is to cut back on your coffee drinking and/or cigarette smoking. Both of these activities result in an increase in blood pressure, heart rate and subsequently anxiety levels and perspiration. If you’re a smoker, begin cutting back on the amount of cigarettes you smoke each day. It may not be easy, but it will definitely help. And with the whole coffee craze all of the world seems to be in with Starbucks popping up all over the place, you’re going to want to indulge a bit less in your grade lattes.
